When I first had my walking skirt, I didn’t fully understand the benefits I would feel from it, I was nervous to be too hard on it. My use soon changed, I hang it on a hook on the back of my kitchen door so I can easily wear it when going out with my dogs, and the fact that it’s such a versatile, tough item so much easier to wear and more comfortable than waterproof trousers. Water and windproof too. The deep pockets are so useful. I love it!!
When walking the coast path I can undo it and provide us with a waterproof blanket to sit on until we’re ready to walk further. It keeps me warm and dry when walking my dogs. I can’t imagine being without it.
I had lost quite a few inches around my middle and Odette very kindly altered the skirt for me so that it fits perfectly again.
To find something that will truly last a lifetime is quite rare. But the Nouvelle Habit skirt ticks all the boxes. Practical, portable and stylish. Instead of faffing with waterproofs that just don’t work I can simply wrap my custom skirt over my jumper and hop in the saddle. Once
on board it well covers the saddle and my legs so no more soggy tack
cleaning or drying! My horse Haze also appreciates staying nice and dry
underneath. I have worn it in the warmer summer months and have not been too hot. Now I am wearing it during icy rain showers and have been comfortably toasty sheltered from the wind and rain.
Odette’s attention to detail is second to none. I wear it on every ride. Wet or dry!

You have no idea how much you need a Compass waterproof skirt until you experience wearing one in the rain.
These skirts are simply amazing at keeping you warm and dry whatever the weather wants to throw at you.
Whether you are out walking the dog or teaching outside they simply wrap around over whatever you are wearing underneath and then you hang them up by the hook on the back of the skirt and let them dry. Minimal maintenance yet long levity of life.
Simply fabulous and I couldn’t be without mine – thank you so much Odette.
This is one of the best things I’ve ever bought. I can’t tell you how many times it’s kept me warm and dry while riding.
It’s perfectly designed and hardly moves even when I’m show jumping- yes even when jumping up to 1.50m jumps! Unbelievable!

My skirt is an essential bit of kit for me now. When it’s cold and wet, I wear it around the yard as well as riding. Being cold can really put me off riding and having my cosy skirt is making the world of difference!

I absolutely love my skirt from Nouvelle Habit. I messaged back and forth with Odette to have slight adjustments made to the skirt length before I ordered and she was a pleasure to deal with. It arrived beautifully (and I mean truly beautifully) packaged, made and sent with loving care. I wear it throughout the whole of Autumn, Winter and Spring, I wear it to walk the dogs, pooh pick the fields and ride my horses. I just wish Odette made matching jackets…. I’d buy one like a

I could not recommended a nicer lady or company.
We met at a show and instantly you could see how the quality was through the skirt from start to finish. When it arrived in the post it did not fail to give me the ‘wow’ factor, she really had thought of everything
including the wax seal on the envelope. Several people have commented on my skirt & I have & I will continue to recommend this amazing brand!

Very pleased with my Nouvelle Habit riding skirt. Beautiful elegant design that's practical and really does what it was designed to do.I find it's very effective at keeping the lower half of me (and the saddle) dry because there are no gaps for the rain to get in. Also keeps my legs and bottom lovely and warm.

I am finding that my Nouvelle Habit skirt is really coming into it's own now the weather is reliably wet! I have it spread out drying and ready to pull on just as I leave for my ride. It takes a minute, no more, to put on, it feels comfortable and it keeps me bone dry! Plus!!! The saddle and numnah are also completely dry! So labour saving too!I really consider it an integral part of my equipment!
Don't hesitate, just get one!

My skirt kept me free from scratches and stings, it protected me better than any treggings! i think that it is because the wrap around gives a double layer over the front of my legs.

I just wanted to tell you I love the skirt!
I put it to the test today as it was windy and -3degrees in Sweden and I was out hacking for an hour and half and it kept me warm and cozy the whole way!

I absolute adored my Moorland riding skirt my husband bought me for Christmas last year… I bought another!!! Say goodbye to chilblains, cold wet soggy breeches. I use them for pretty much everything outside. Fit beautifully, look fabulous and I definitely feel like an Edwardian lady riding!! Oh AND save your saddle from the elements what more could you ask for? Odette Is so helpful and talks through any ideas you have- I had a custom made option too. The question really is when I will buy the navy??!!! As soon as you get yours I guarantee the first thing you’ll at is why didn’t I have this before … and twirl.. you will twirl

My Nouvelle Habit riding skirt is my new favourite piece of kit!
It has been designed with a huge amount of thought and this is matched by the attention to detail, craftsmanship & high quality materials – this really will last for years!
Odette could not have been easier to deal with. She answered all my
questions and gave me a stunning bespoke skirt – I love orange!!!
I’ve ridden in the skirt in torrential downpours, windy storms and
freezing temperatures – it makes riding just so much nicer in these
conditions (and it makes you feel stylish). It keeps me warm, protects
my saddle and saves me so much time in cleaning.

I wear mine when it's wet, when it's cold, even when I can't be bothered to get out of my pj's first thing in the morning to walk the dogs!! It's been 4 years since I got mine and it's a staple part of my outdoors wardrobe. No more swishy (I hate that noise!), difficult to get in and out of (OMW I dont miss that!), over trousers for me!!

What a wonderful product.
I’m used to good equipment but often they will be missing something-
pocket/ loop etc. This product really has thought of everything, a
stylish product which is actually waterproof, good fastenings and great
quality through and through, right down to the hanging loop!
A quality stylish product that will last from a local company you can trust. Thoroughly recommend this.
My hubby spotted the Nouvelle Habit skirts at the Game Fair, he knew I was on the look out for a new overskirt as the one I had made for myself some years ago was looking very tatty.
I am so pleased with my riding skirt, it looks so elegant and practical and I have received lots of compliments already. The details and quality are just absolutely wonderful. I will wear it when walking the dog, with a short boiled wool jacket which suits the shape of the skirt perfectly without hiding the lovely buckles.

I absolutely adore my skirt ,my second winter and I wear it every day through autumn, winter and spring .I shoot , ride the horses ,all yard duties and walk the dogs and clean out the chickens and I’m often seen in the supermarket still wearing it! I’m known as the lady in the skirt on the yard . Warm, waterproof and stylish. I love the fact the it’s hand made by Odette.
The quality of this skirt is 100% . I can honestly say this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

My skirt had its first outing today - kept me warm, dry and comfortable in today’s cold wet weather.
where do I begin with this AMAZING skirt.
Not only is it absolutely beautiful, its 100% warm and waterproof.
Super easy to wear, get on, get off, jump in and gallop for miles!
First time I wore it was for 6 hours galloping on the moors in bitter
wind and piercing rain, not only was I completely dry but my saddle was
too .
I cannot fault this item ,its my go too for any chilly or wet day and would 100% recommend to anybody and everybody I know

Hi Odette, I thought I'd share a picture of Isla and I out for beaters day!! I have worn your lovely skirt post foot op when out with Isla training and it is stylish, comfortable, warm and practical, keeping me clean and dry..... which is a huge plus point especially with my bouncy spaniel!!

My husband treated me to a Nouvelle Habit Riding skirt for Christmas. It was an indulgence to spend this much on a skirt but riding in the cold wind yesterday I can honestly say it was amazing and worth it. Here is why, as soon as I put the skirt on it sat so well on my hips, the Velcro fastenings are situated perfectly and the adjustment is great as you can wear it over jacket or jumper or underneath them. Getting on Lulu was easy too and the leg straps enable a secure fit around the legs to defeat and cold easterly wind! Riding in the skirt at all paces feels secure and comfortable. I love the high back which keeps you warm and stabilises the position of the skirt whilst riding. This skirt is a credit to it’s designer, it is so evident that every aspect has been tested for riding. The workmanship and packing the skirt arrives in is great too. I can’t wait to ride it in the forest when we are able.Please excuse my muddy girl in the photo

I love, love, love my skirt, it’s absolutely perfect! I am really excited to wear it, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet.
Odette’s attention to detail is superb, even the way it was packaged for delivery was beautiful. She was incredibly patient with me, as I wanted to use my own fabric and spent ages finding just the right one.

My Moorlands skirt is probably one of the best things I have EVER bought; I absolutely love it!
I wear it to walk the dog, for walks on the beach, throw it on over my work clothes to keep them clean whilst checking my horse (so much easier to put on/off than waterproof trousers/overalls!!), I’ve worn it wandering round town on a rainy day, doing my poo picking/yard chores, I wear it all the time – oh, & I ride in it too!
It’s warm, waterproof and so stylish too; I’ve lost count of the compliments I’ve received whilst wearing it & am always being asked where I bought it. And the quality is amazing – worth every penny.
